Thanks to everyone for following MDM. I want to make clear that I will still be blogging, I am simply ending this blog. My studio blog will now be Working Space. You can subscribe to the feed here. If you subscribe to MDM, please change your feed information.
MDM turned 3 last month. I began it in February of 2007, at a time of desperation and uncertainty not unlike now. I was between studios, I was searching for my voice and I was struggling with how to even continue to produce work. In recording my thoughts, observations, criticisms, and the occasional rant, I’ve learned a great deal about my process and I’ve made some good friends. Some of you I’ve met in person, others I have not, though I hope to one day. I’m grateful that anyone has even read this at all, much less kept up with it for all or part of the past 3 years.
Some have told me that they really appreciated how this blog illuminated one artist’s struggles and processes. I appreciate that. Know that they are simply that, one artist’s perspectives. Know too that even in my most raw, I’ve always been aware of audience and what I can and cannot say publicly. That being said, I’ve always tried to “keep it real.”
Working Space will continue in largely the same format as it has, primarily a photoblog that documents space and process and inspiration. I may offer up some prose from time to time, but mostly I’m going to let images speak. I’m moving toward a more private life overall, and decreasing my online presence a bit.
I’ll still be following my favorite blogs, some of which you can see listed on the right if you’re reading this on blogger.
Thanks again. Peace.
This blog will self-destruct in 7 days.
